We found love in a hopeful place - Trondheim Calling

We went on a trip to Trondheim Calling last weekend. Never been in this cute little town before which is made out of colorful houses, fish stories and atheistic churches. Of course our trip was Norwegian like mixed with this never ending fear of spending too much money. But apparently Trondheim isn't such a bummer as Oslo in this case. Trondheim Calling is a festival that introduces only Norwegian newcomer, giving them a chance to be watched and have a good time in the hood. The logo promised highlights: metal/ hardrock, floating beer showers running down like oil, rough boys and girls, fish cake and mostly difficult music in a Nordic by Nature sense. We were asked to play a dj set which turned out to be a 90's Hip Hop session, hosting a seminar and be part of a panel talking about Nordic music in Europe. It was marvellous. Here are some bands we liked a lot and stuff we saw.

TRONDHEIM CALLING

LOVELOVELOVE

SNØSKRED

COLD MAILMAN

TOMORROW WE MOVE TO HAWAII (& Nina)

.. the absolute Friday night highlight was surprisingly:

 BARREN WOMB

.. non surprisingly amazing like usual

BLOKSBERG

TRONDHEIM

SJOKOLADEBOLLER

ESSAY

..Essay was probably the absolute highlight during the whole festival. Maybe not musically (that was Barren Womb) but definitely emotionally. We were extremely looking forward to see the new Justin Timberlake who turned out to be a smaller Norwegian version of Drake. Anyways, after 5 minutes he proposed to his girlfriend (she said yes) and Jay-Z and Beyoncé found love in this hopeful place.
